Website Design & Writing Samples

I am currently working on updating the Iowa City Lions Club website. Use the slide tool below to view before and after images. Please note that the site is not yet completed, and I need to find a better banner photo. However, I am confident that the site is cleaner, aligns with International Lions Club communications guidelines, and incorporates best practices in web design. I am also adding a registration site and store option to streamline their fundraising efforts .

News Releases & Feature Articles

Some of my favorite articles I’ve written over the years are listed below. I tackle complex issues and transform them into neat news items for the public. From recruiting public volunteers to participate in clinical studies to profiling studies and researchers, the samples below provide a bird’s eye view of my abilities over the years.

Promotional Toolkit

I created a template for promotional toolkits on the Great Plains Center website for media and other communications specialists to easily obtain and share information. This resulted in events being picked up by media as far away as Connecticut, in our partners’ newsletters, and on their social media pages. Our communications partners praised and used the site for its accessibility and ease.

Newsletter Blurbs

I coordinated the newsletter submissions, created content graphics, edited the articles, and wrote my own articles for this bi-monthly newsletter distributed among farmers and stakeholders. See pages 6, 7, and 11 for samples of my writing and inserts.
